Mission
Statement
Family strengths are the
foundation upon which future generations of Ashtabula County
children are inspired to dream and be encouraged to reach their
highest potential.
The community, drawing on
its diversity, provides the bridge which allows our families and
children to overcome any obstacle.
Therefore, the Ashtabula
County Family and Children First Council commits to the continuous
development and implementation of a comprehensive and collaborative
process which promotes a family centered community in which there
are employment opportunities, income, housing, education, and
services adequate to meet the challenges of life with
dignity.
The Four Core Functions of FCFC

Build Community Capacity:
Mobilize child and family serving partners to address the needs of children
and families through planning and implementing evidence-based programs.

Coordinate Systems and Services:
Provide a formalized venue to facilitate the alignment of resources, policies,
and services with and for children and families.

Engage and Empower Families:
Recruit and support famlies to be active contributing members on council
and advcoate on behalf of child and family.

Shared Accountability for Vision:
Monitor, evaluate, and communicate progress and successes with the
commitments to assuring all families and children thrive.
