Programs
The Ashtabula County Family
and Children First Council provides and coordinates a variety of
local programs including the following:
Service Coordination- a program designed to bring comprehensive
services to multi-need children and their families in an effort to
maintain stability in the home, success in the community, and
progress in the classroom. The program brings local social service
agencies together in an effort to provide efficient wrap-around
services to children ages 0 to 21.
System of care (SOC)/Family Centered Services and Support is designed to build family advocacy and service capacity for youth with behavioral health disorders and their families.
Wraparound- A process to develop an individualized plan for a child and family by a wraparound team, the people that know the family best.
Ohio Children's Trust Fund- provides services to prevent child abuse and neglect.
Help
Me Grow- The Individuals with Disabilities Education
Act, Part C, is a federal law which provides financial assistance to
states for the purpose of providing services to infants and toddlers
(age birth through two) with disabilities. The Family and Children
First Council of each county directs the activities of the county
Help Me Grow intake and referral site. Help Me Grow promotes the
well being of young children through home-based and specialized
services and public awareness, with emphasis on early intervention
and prevention.
Cross Systems Training, for professionals in the field of family life. CEUs and
MRDD hours offered for caseworkers and social
workers.
